Rangers’ Nasser Djiga arrived at Ibrox from Wolverhampton Wanderers last summer when Danny Röhl’s predecessor Russell Martin was in charge.
Both the Wolves owned player and Emmanuel Fernandez’s arrivals at Rangers had a direct impact on Robin Pröpper’s future.
Last July, the latter hinted the duo’s signings convinced him to leave Rangers and return to FC Twente.
Djiga and Fernandez have played 37 and 28 matches in all competitions for Röhl’s side this season.
The Burkina Faso international’s Scottish Premiership stats are as follows:
- Appearances: 20
- Starts: 18
- Total minutes: 1,554
- Minutes per game: 78
- Interceptions per game: 1.6
- Tackles per game: 1.5
- Ball recovered per game:
- Clearances per game: 4.6
- Blocked shots per game: 0.7
- Duels won per game: 4.1
Rangers keen to buy Wolves man
Nasser Djiga’s performances for Rangers have convinced them to make his Ibrox stay permanent.
That’s according to 226 Foot, who make it clear it’s their own information about the 23-year-old.
Danny Röhl’s side want to buy the Wolves owned player in the summer but the operation is far from simple.
The Premier League side signed the defender from Red Star Belgrade for around €12m in February 2025 and sent him on loan to Rangers later that year.
The Molineux club’s relegation from the top flight was confirmed. Despite this, the English club ‘fully intend’ to recoup the investment, meaning Wolves want €12m to sell the player.
As of now, Wolves are yet to decide whether to keep Djiga in the Championship or sell him in the next window. The final decision is expected in the coming weeks.
The next few weeks will be ‘decisive’ to understand the outcome of the saga. Rangers are keen to buy while Wolves need to weigh in between the sporting and financial aspects.
Contract, value and agent info
Nasser Djiga has a contract with Wolves until 2030 and Transfermarkt value him at €6m.
Agent Marcel Veerman is representing the defender, now on loan at Rangers.
