KRC Genk will travel to Ibrox to face Rangers in the first group stage match of the Europa League on Thursday.
Rangers and the Belgian club have endured difficult starts to the season and both Russell Martin and Thorsten Fink have uncertain futures.
Fink will be able to welcome Konstantinos Karetsas for tomorrow’s clash against Rangers.
That’s according to Het Belang van Limburg, and they report the attacking midfielder is available for the clash against the Scottish club.
The 17-year-old missed the last two games due to a back injury but has already trained with the rest of the group. The newspaper say he’s now ready to face Rangers tomorrow.
Genk attacking duo of Daan Heymans and Yira Sor will be missing from the travelling squad. Sor has also returned to training, but the Rangers fixture comes too early for him.
Therefore, the duo won’t be boarding the flight to Glasgow at 11:30am [local time] on Wednesday.
HBVL’s claim is relayed by Voetbal Nieuws, who then say Karetsas is a ‘golden boy’ and his return is a ‘big boost’ for Genk. This is also ‘good news’ for Fink as he can count on him for the Europa League clash.
