Galatasaray are eyeing up a move for Glasgow Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz but face a challenge to convince Philippe Clement and co to let him leave Ibrox this summer.
That’s according to Takvim and Fanatik, who both cover the player today and how the Turkish side are looking into a deal for him.
The former explains that Galatasaray are eyeing up five new additions to their squad this summer as they look to build on their business from last year and a campaign that currently has them sitting first in the Super Lig, two points clear of Fenerbahce.
They’re already making plans to add to their squad and a left back is on the agenda for them, with Rangers defender Yilmaz at the top of the list.
They’re interested in a move for him, despite his history at Beşiktaş, but the ‘biggest problem’ they are facing at this moment in time is that Rangers won’t let him leave Ibrox on loan.
Fanatik, though, go one step further and say that Philippe Clement and co have completely ruled out any transfer for the defender.
According to them, despite Yilmaz mostly being a back-up for Borna Barisic this season, the Scottish club are not planning to let him go in the summer.
Instead, it’s reported that Rangers are planning to let Barisic go and keep Yilmaz in the team instead.
Thus, any proposal from Galatasaray to sign him, either on loan or on a permanent basis, will be rejected outright.
