Ryan Naderi is finally close to joining Rangers, with a deal with Hansa Rostock now ‘taking concrete shape’.

That’s according to Nord Kurier. They report that Hansa Rostock’s high stakes gamble to get the most out of Rangers has apparently paid off. Danny Röhl will get his man, but at a cost.

The newspaper reports that, following protracted negotiations and several offers, the North German club are likely to let Naderi join Rangers. The deal is expected to be done for €5m, with further bonus payments on top.

However, Rostock are yet to make a final decision. That’s because the deal is now a permanent transfer now rather than one which would see Naderi loaned back to them until the end of the season.

Rangers have changed the deal as they’ve been unable to sign another striker on loan. They, therefore, want to bring Naderi to Ibrox immediately. As a result, they have increased their offer accordingly.

Reports in both Germany and the UK have indicated that Naderi is with his agent in Manchester to undergo a medical. All parties want to be prepared for Hansa Rostock to give the go-ahead.

Their sporting director, Amir Shapourzadeh, had been blocking the deal. He reiterated his stance over the weekend.

“I’ve been in the business for a while now and I know that agents plant rumours to create pressure and unrest within the club,” he said.

“We won’t let that influence us and have repeatedly stated how important the player is and that we won’t let him go in the winter. Therefore, we don’t need to comment on every rumour every day.”

Now, according to Nord Kurier, the deal is being finalised. It seems the pressure of deadline day may have helped Rangers to finally get their man.
