The Colombian media shares some bad news for Rangers ahead of the most important part of the season for Philippe Clement’s side

According to journalist Pipe Sierra, winger Oscar Cortes, currently on loan at Ibrox from RC Lens, will need a ‘surgical procedure’ following a posterior muscle injury.

The South American reporter claims that Cortes will need to get sidelined by Rangers for a while, staying ‘out for around two months’.

Even though the 20-year-old belongs to Lens, it’s said it’s the Scottish side, who have him on loan, who will take care of him during this period.

Cortes was loaned by the French side on the 1st of February this year. Since then, he made seven appearances for the Glasgow club, with one goal and two assists.

He had already missed the match against Motherwell last weekend, and it now seems that in case he returns, that will only be for the final part of the season.

Rangers are currently top of the Scottish Premiership, two points clear of Celtic. In the Europa League, they currently prepare to face Benfica in the round-of-16, with the first game in Lisbon and the second in Glasgow.
