Rangers are showing ‘concrete interest’ in Westerlo right back Bryan Reynolds and have already approached Belgian club about a transfer.
Het Niuewsblad and journalist David Van den Broeck report on the potential move for the 24-year-old today.
Rangers show concrete interest
The journalist kicks things off by reporting that Rangers have shown concrete interest in bringing Bryan Reynolds to Ibrox this summer.
According to his information, Danny Rohl’s side have approached Westerlo about a move for the American right-back. He states that both Reynolds and Westerlo are open to a transfer. He only has a year left on his current deal with them.
Het Nieuwsblad report similar in their report. The newspaper states that Rangers are ‘eyeing’ a move for the 24-year-old.
They say that after Rangers previously bought left-back Tuur Rommens from the Belgian side, now their focus is on Reynolds.
Westerlo are open to a deal as Reynolds current deal expires next summer. They would like to secure a ‘few million’ for him rather than him leave on a free transfer next summer. They’re aware of the interest from Rangers.
The Scottish giants are not the only side interested. According to Het Nieuwsblad there is interest from ‘top leagues’. They do no name those leagues or any clubs specifically.
Rangers need a right-back
Rangers need a replacement at right-back for James Tavernier, who is leaving at the end of his contract this month. Max Aarons is also set to depart after spending the season on loan from Bournemouth.
That leaves a hole at right back that Danny Rohl, and his team need to fill. And it appears that they have their eye on Bryan Reynolds to do it. 7
Transfermarkt currently value him at €3.5m, so it would be easy to imagine that’s around the price Westerlo will be looking for from any deal. Whether Rangers are happy to pay that, remains to be seen but talks are already underway.
