Rangers have an ‘outline agreement’ in place to sign FC Twente defender Robin Pröpper and give him a ‘dream’ transfer to Ibrox.
That’s according to De Telegraaf, who report that the 30-year-old looks set to join Philippe Clement’s squad and reunite with several old associates at Rangers.
The newspaper reports that Pröpper is on the verge of making a ‘dream transfer’ to Ibrox, with Rangers having reached an ‘outline agreement’ with Twente for their captain.
They confirmed reports from elsewhere in the Netherlands on the matter and say sources around Twente have confirmed to them that a deal is in place.
The 30-year-old still needs to undergo a medical before completing the move to Rangers but there is every indication that will be a formality.
Twente have sanctioned the move as they don’t want to deny Pröpper of the ‘great opportunity’ to join Rangers and make the move to Ibrox this summer.
They are also collecting a ‘nice transfer fee’ for the defender which will be reportedly worth ‘several million’ Euros. This is after they broke his contract last year so he could sign a new deal until 2027.
Pröpper will reunite with some old faces at Rangers, having played with Cyriel Dessers at Heracles and worked with Andries Ulderink when he was the assistant manager at Twente.
It’s not the first time the Dutch side have done a deal with their counterparts at Ibrox this summer after Sam Lammers went the other way and perhaps that good relationship has facilitated this move too.
