On Wednesday, journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu reported Rangers manager Philippe Clement has no desire to allow Rıdvan Yılmaz leave Ibrox in the winter market.
Therefore, Philippe Clement’s side have turned down Galatasaray’s offer for the left-back. Rangers rejecting the proposal is backed by Sabah, who then provides a few additional details on this case.
Philippe Clement has confirmed the 22-year-old’s Ibrox exit will only be possible if Rangers were to receive a convincing offer.
Sabah relay his quotes and add that the Turkey international is keen on making a switch to the Istanbul club. He believes this move would help improve his chances of playing for his national team at the Euros next summer.
Therefore, Yılmaz ‘wants to be transferred’ and is ‘waiting’ for Galatasaray and Rangers to reach an agreement.
Turkish journalist Oğuz Altay, writing in his column for Yeni Şafak, says the fullback has a deal in place with Galatasaray. He adds the Turkish club are continuing their negotiations with Philippe Clement’s side, to take Yılmaz away from Ibrox.
Altay says Turkey manager Vincenco Montella has assured the Rangers man that he’ll take him to the Euros if he features regularly in the coming months. Taking this into account, the journalist claims Galatasaray’s ‘hand is strengthened’ to sign Yılmaz in January.
