Rangers are the subject of multiple transfer dramas swirling around them as the end of the window comes into view. Philippe Clement will be glad when the market has closed, so he can be sure of what he has to work with at Ibrox until the end of the season.
Throughout the January window there’s been interest from Turkish clubs in multiple Rangers players, and it looks like that’s going to continue until the market comes to an end.
Turkey’s Sport Digitale and their journalist Ertan Suzgun report Çaykur Rizespor have made an offer to Rangers for Jose Cifuentes.
That offer is on the basis of a loan with a purchase option at the end of the season worth €2m. There’s optimism that side of the deal will be fine, but Cifuentes himself isn’t thought to be keen.
The Rangers player is ‘not very fond’ of the idea of moving to the Turkish club and would rather go somewhere else in Europe. There’s now an effort going on to persuade him but it’s not known what the chances of success are.
