Earlier on Tuesday, we covered reports from the Dutch media which revealed FC Utrecht’s interest in Rangers forward Sam Lammers.
Newspaper Algemeen Dagblad wrote that with the player not getting a starting place at the Ibrox side recently, the Eredivisie side became attentive to his situation.
Now it’s De Telegraaf who have something to say on this chase, claiming Utrecht are indeed ‘busy’ with their efforts to sign Lammers from Rangers.
It’s said that ‘several sources’ confirmed this pursuit. The report writes that even though the player only arrived at Ibrox last summer, he could be loaned out because of the many options Rangers have for their attack.
So far, there are no details on how advanced the talks are, despite De Telegraaf pointing out how feasible this operation is.
Rangers invested €3.5m to sign Lammers from Atalanta last summer, and so far, he has two goals and two assists in 31 appearances. We shall see if Utrecht’s offer will be good enough for the Ibrox side to consider such an early departure.
Either way, his departure is seen as a likely scenario.
