Ridvan Yilmaz is open to a move back to Besiktas from Glasgow Rangers this month if the two sides can work out a deal.
That’s according to journalist Gökmen Ozcan, who reports that Rangers and Besiktas are in contact over a move for the defender.
He reports that Yilmaz has previously rejected offer from many Turkish clubs but would be looking positively on a return to Besiktas at this moment in time.
They are his former club who he made 62 appearances for after rising through the youth ranks before joining Rangers in a €2m deal in 2022.
Any deal will be dependent on Besiktas striking a deal with Rangers, which so far, they’ve not managed to do. Talks are ongoing on that front and reports over the last two days have indicated as much.
What they have also made clear is that Rangers boss Philippe Clement is yet to make a firm decision on Yilmaz, who has been in and out of his team this season. He’s only featured in 38% of the available minutes in the league to date.
Perhaps when he and Rangers make that decision, talks with Besiktas will progress and an exit from Ibrox at the end of the window will be sorted.
