Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Rangers FC are one of the many clubs in the competition for the signing of KRC Genk winger Theo Bongonda, according to reports from the Belgian media.
It’s journalist Sacha Tavolieri who, on Twitter, today shares some information on the future of the 26-year-old.
He claims there’s been confirmation from the player’s agent Fouad Ben Kouider that ‘nothing has yet been decided’ regarding where the winger will play next season, but the list of interested clubs, which already had Al Ain, now also includes Fenerbahce, Olympiacos and Rangers.
Still, there’s no information on which of those sides is closest to landing the player.
This isn’t the first time Bongonda has been linked to British clubs, as the likes of Aston Villa, Brighton and West Ham were all said to be following at some point over the past few years.
Lats season with Genk, he had 13 goals and five assists, and that seems to be one of the reasons why he attracted such a race for his signing this summer, now including Rangers in the list of pretenders.
The report doesn’t say how much the winger would cost, while Transfermarkt currently value him at €7m.
