Rangers have made an initial approach for Sevila midfielder Joan Jordán, even though his agents have denied it.
That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who report that Philippe Clement’s side have shown a desire to take the midfielder to Ibrox this summer.
The newspaper reports that Jordán is on the list of players that Sevilla want to get rid of this summer and have put him on the exit list, but he would prefer to stay in Spain and that’s led to some issues.
The midfielder is not inclined to give up part of his high salary at the club or move somewhere he does not want to move to and that’s seen several options already discarded.
Rangers may be one of them as they’ve already sounded out his entourage about a move to Ibrox, although his agents insist that is not the case.
Jordán would also prefer to stay in Spain, ending viable options in Portugal, although no club shave stepped forward properly at this point in time beyond Deportivo Alavés, who only offered to pay 20% of his wages. That was rejected outright by Sevilla.
Rangers have work to do if they are to pull off a deal then, with the player not keen and his wages seemingly big enough to cause problems.
