There’s been multiple claims in recent days related to Sevilla’s Joan Jordan and a potential move to Rangers this summer.
From both the Scottish and Spanish media there’s been claims of offers, asking prices, and even the player rejecting the opportunity to join Philippe Clement’s side.
With the reports continuing and spreading out, ABC Sevilla, a reliable local newspaper, went chasing for some confirmation on what has actually been happening with Rangers and Joan Jordan.
It would appear the answer is… not a lot.
ABC Sevilla state they’ve been in contact with the player’s agent who has told them clearly Joan Jordan ‘has not rejected Rangers’. The player himself doesn’t even have any knowledge of the Scottish Premiership club making any offers for him.
He also hasn’t spoken with Sevilla about a potential move to Rangers.
There’s the chance Sevilla are working without the player’s approval and offering him to other clubs, indeed it wouldn’t be a big surprise. There’s also the chance Rangers initiated things and made an offer, which the Spanish club haven’t informed their player about.
If it’s neither of those then this one was plucked from thin air.
