On October 5th, Rangers parted ways with Russell Martin after a poor start to the season. He arrived in June, and the Scottish club won only one league game under his orders.
Rangers are yet to appoint his successor after Steven Gerrard emerged as a top target. However, he has decided against returning to Ibrox for a second spell.
The search for Russell Martin’s successor is ongoing. Sky Deutschland, relayed by Fussball Transfers, report Rangers and Royale Union St. Gilloise have looked at Bo Svensson.
He’s been without a job since leaving Union Berlin in December 2024 and is waiting for the right opportunity. That doesn’t seem to be Rangers or the Belgian club. It’s claimed the Scottish club weren’t able to convince Svensson to move to the UK.
Another report from Sky Deutschland covers Rangers’ interest in Danny Röhl.
He left Sheffield Wednesday in July and has been without a club since then. That could change as the report states the German is a ‘hot candidate’ to become Russell Martin’s replacement at Ibrox.
It’s further claimed Rangers have held talks with Röhl and he’s impressed them.
