Rangers have their attention on Nîmes Olympique star Zinedine Ferhat ahead of the summer transfer window.

That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say the Algerian international’s performances have caught the eye at Ibrox, with Steven Gerrard’s side considering a transfer swoop.

They explain that despite a complicated season for the Ligue 1 side, who are struggling to stay in the French top flight this year, Ferhat has still stood out and subsequently been noticed by Rangers.

He has six goals and ten assists in Ligue 1 so far, figures that make him ‘one of the most decisive players’ in the division.

Such performances ‘leave no one indifferent’ and according to their information, several French and European clubs are ‘closely interested’ in him.

Rangers are named among them, alongside Saint Étienne and Sassuolo, while a ‘top club’ in Ligue 1 are also keen but remain unnamed.

All the sides are said to have highlighted the 28-year-old ahead of the summer, but it’s not stated if their interest has gone beyond that so far.

With his contract expiring next summer, there’s a chance the likes of Rangers could get him on the cheap, although there is no mention of a possible figure in this report.

Indeed it seems he is just a name on the list at Ibrox at this moment in time, perhaps as a replacement for the likes of Ryan Kent or Ianis Hagi if they were to move on this summer.
