Joining RSC Charleroi from Paradou AC last season, Adem Zorgane had a first season to remember in Belgium.

The midfielder scored three goals and assisted another six in 35 appearances in the league, which caught the attention of Rangers FC.

The Ibrox side are undergoing a few changes this summer, with Giovanni van Bronckhorst trying to build on last season, and a new midfielder is of order.

That’s why Rangers have turned their attention to the Algeria international, according to Nabil Djellit, who took to Twitter to report the news.

His tweet, which was then corrected by pointing out it was Rangers and not Celtic, explains that the Scottish side and Toulouse in Ligue 1 ‘approached’ Charleroi for the player who recently renewed his contract until 2027.

However, whatever Van Bronckhorst’s transfer men put forward didn’t work, as the ‘offers were deemed insufficient’ by the Belgians.

That means Rangers will have to try again, or simply move onto another target.
