According to claim in the Italian media Rangers face competition from the Netherlands and Belgium to sign AS Roma forward Umar Sadiq.

The Nigerian has been linked with Rangers as new manager Steven Gerrard looks to bolster his squad before next season.

TMW report Rangers face a fight to sign Sadiq and impressing whilst on loan with NAC Breda last season. The 21 year old scored five goals in twelve games for the Dutch club.

It’s claimed there’s been movements in recent days, and Vitesse, Groningen, Oostende and Genk are all interested in Sadiq and could make a move for the youngster in this transfer window.

Gerrard will be hoping to provide competition in attack to the likes of Kenny Miller and Alfredo Morelos, with Sadiq looking like being an option this summer for the Ibrox club.

The forward is contracted to Roma until June 2020, but has yet to play for the Serie A club.
