According to a claim in the Turkish media, Besiktas and Rangers are continuing to hold transfer talks with regards to the Super Lig giants signing Ridvan Yilmaz in this window.
There have been reports in recent weeks that Rangers could offload the Turkey international despite Philippe Clement starting him in the past six league games. Despite his recent involvement he wasn’t in the squad for Rangers’ Europa League clash with Union Saint-Gilloise last night.
A Spor report on the latest developments regarding Besiktas’ pursuit for the 23-year-old and they say Rangers aren’t prepared to let him leave on a free transfer as previously reported in Turkey.
It’s claimed the Ibrox club are looking for a transfer fee in the region of €5m, after purchasing him from Besiktas for €4m in 2022.
However, the Istanbul club aren’t prepared to meet this valuation of the player and only ready to offer €3m. Negotiations are expected to continue as both clubs look to reach an agreement before the transfer deadline.
The young left back came through the Besiktas youth system and went on to play 62 games for the Istanbul side before his transfer to the Glasgow club.
Yilmaz has made 15 appearances for Rangers this season and is contracted to the Scottish club until June 2027.
