The last week has seen Rangers continually mentioned as an option for Emil Bohinen.
It began with Secolo XIX claiming at the end of December that the player’s new agents had presented an offer from Danny Röhl’s side to Genoa. They were confident that the midfielder would return from his ongoing loan at Venezia, with Dutch clubs also interested.
Last week, La Nazione gave hope to Rangers, who were emerging as Bohinen’s preferred destination.
There was a twist on Tuesday and it came from Quotidiano Sportivo. It was reported that it was Spezia who were making major progress to land the Norwegian. Suddenly, Spezia had preference, which didn’t make a great of sense. There’s not a great deal the Serie B club have over Rangers, other than being near some of Italy’s best coastal villages.
An update from Secolo XIX – via Tuttomercatoweb, has now emerged. There are signs that Rangers are still in the mix to sign the 26-year-old.
The Genoa newspaper claim Spezia are working to sign him but there is a lot of competition. This is making it difficult for the Serie B side to close a deal.
Rangers are believed to have taken ‘concrete steps’ for Bohinen, with Bari also making moves. Due to this, an auction is slowly starting to build for the player and the Glasgow giants are ‘ready to submit a formal offer soon’.
Considering the contradictory claims, perhaps Bohinen’s entourage is behind this. There are still three weeks to go in January and they are trying to get the best deal possible.
