On Friday, we covered claims from Austria that Rangers are close to finalising the deal for Sturm Graz’s Tochi Chukwuani. They also reported he’s travelling to complete his move to Ibrox in the winter market.
Later that day, Danny Röhl said he’s hopeful of having the 22-year-old in the squad when Rangers face Aberdeen on Sunday.
Austrian newspaper Kleine Zeitung now provides the latest on Chukwuani’s impending arrival at Rangers.
Röhl’s side have already reached an agreement with the Austrian club. Earlier claims said Danny Röhl’s side are paying €5m to sign the player.
Their sporting director, Michael Parensen, has confirmed this and Kleine Zeitung have relayed his comments.
“We have a verbal agreement. I’ve seen so much with transfers. We won’t announce the deal until everything is signed,” he said.
Sturm Graz are currently in Spain for a training camp. Austria has a winter break, and warm weather training si the usual plan before the season starts again.
The Dane didn’t take part in yesterday’s training. Instead, he has already travelled to Glasgow, where he’s undergone medical tests with Rangers.
The Scottish club are waiting for everything to be cleared, and signing the paperwork. This are pending for Rangers to make the midfielder’s arrival at Ibrox official, which should happen imminently.
