Former Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhüttl is one of the candidates to replace Daniel Farke at Borussia Monchengladbach.
That’s according to BILD, who say Farke is likely to be sacked at the end of the season and three names are ‘already being discussed as successors’.
According to their information, a separation from Farke is now considered inevitable, even though those in charge at the club actually intended to give him a transfer window to design the squad how he wanted.
However, going 4-0 down to Borussia Dortmund after 30 minutes recently forced them to reconsider, with the belief that nothing Farke does is currently working.
Three replacements are currently being discussed at Hennes-Wesweiler-Allee, and former Southampton manager Hasenhüttl is one of them.
He has been out of work since leaving Southampton in November last year after four years at the club. That spell ended badly but his reputation in Germany remains high after his time with RB Leipzig and FC Ingolstadt.
BILD say he is currently ‘waiting for a new job’ after his departure from the Saints and the fact that he was discussed before Monchengladbach hired Farke also works in his favour.
Whether he ends up at the club remains to be seen but he’s certainly on the list and a name to keep an eye out as he looks to bounce back post Southampton.
