Rangers have made advances over completing a move for Tochi Chukwuani in the winter market. Danny Röhl could soon welcome him at Ibrox if there’s no last-minute twist.
On Thursday, we covered claims from Austria that the 22-year-old didn’t train yesterday as he’s edging closer towards joining Rangers. It was also reported the Scottish club could pay €4.6m to Sturm Graz.
Later that day, Sturm Graz manager Fabio Ingolitsch confirmed talks for the midfielder to join Rangers.
The Dane is yet to complete a move to Rangers but there’s excitement in his home country.
Tipsbladet now cover the latest and explain how this operation is beneficial for the player’s former club, Lyngby Boldklub. Their title states ‘Raining Gold’, and for the Danish club and that’s the gist of the report.
Chukwuani joined Lyngby in August 2022 and spent two years with them before moving to the Austrian side.
Tipsbladet explain he could have left Lyngby for free in the summer of 2024 but signed an extension. This helped his former club earn a fee and be eligible for a sell-on clause.
They report Lyngby will receive 10-20% of the profit from Chukwuani’s impending sale to Rangers. This has resulted in more excitement at the Danish club, for whom finances are tougher than at Rangers.
