Chelsea signed Andrey Santos from Vasco da Gama in the winter market and allowed him to return to the Brazilian club on a short-term loan deal in March.
The midfielder returned to the west London club and trained under Mauricio Pochettino on Tuesday.
Santos was initially set to be part of Chelsea’s squad for the pre-season tour but today’s Record say his situation ‘changes radically’ after FC Porto showed interest in signing him.
The Dragons are searching for Mateus Uribe’s successor and set their sights on the 19-year-old. It’s claimed the Brazil international arrives with the ‘mission’ of making Porto forget about Uribe.
Record add Porto manager Sérgio Conceição has given his approval to the deal.
According to the newspaper, the South American will arrive in Portugal on a loan deal with the possibility of a buying option for Porto.
The report states Santos is most likely to travel to Lisbon ‘very soon’ to undergo medical tests with Porto to complete the loan move.
Should the deal for the Chelsea player go through quickly, he would be able to join his new teammates immediately as Conceição will start pre-season preparation from Thursday.
