Since joining from Lyon in the summer, Lucas Perri has played six Premier League games for Leeds United.
The goalkeeper’s game time has been hindered by an arm injury that he picked up earlier in the campaign. If not for that, the Brazilian may have played every league game for the Whites.
The 27-year-old’s agent Leonardo Cornacini has now spoken to Tuttomercatoweb about his client’s situation at Leeds United and general rise in football.
The agent is clearly satisfied with the goalkeeper’s progress.
He said: “We’re happy with Lucas’s progress. He quickly became an idol in France, playing for Lyon, and now he’s in the best league in the world.”
Cornacini said that not long ago, not many believed in Perri’s abilities. Now proving people wrong and could be heading for the top.
“I remember that when I talked about Lucas, no one knew him; today he’s in the Premier League. When I talked about [Gabriel] Strefezza, it was the same thing. Today, we have three players who will undoubtedly reach the top.”
Perri played 49 times in all competitions for Lyon during his time at the French club. Before that, he had been key for Sao Paulo and Nautico in Brazil.
Leeds United will hope his upwards trajectory can quickly get back on track at Elland Road. That be crucial for the rest of the club’s season.
