Celtic travel to Germany this week for a Europa League clash against Bayer Leverkusen.

Ange Postecoglou’s side currently find themselves in third position, behind both Bayer and Real Betis. Should Celtic not got a result tonight, and Betis manage to win, then the Bhoys’ Europa League campaign will be over for this season.

A win away in Germany against the Bundesliga side would be a boost for the Glasgow club, as they battle with Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premiership. They’ll need a complete change from the match between the two clubs in September, when Bayer came out easy 4-0 winners over Celtic.

One of the scorers in that match, Lucas Alario, is doubtful for the match against Postecoglou’s side, and he’s not the only one from the Bayer squad.

Bild say the clinic is emptying at the Bundesliga club, but the players coming out of treatment face a big ask to be available for the Celtic match.

The German newspaper states: ‘Patrik Schick, Karim Bellarabi, Charles Aránguiz and Lucas Alario participated in team training. Whether one of them is already in the starting line-up against the Scots is questionable.’

Julian Baumgartlinger and Mitchell Bakker are out with long term injuries, whilst Kerem Demirbay is suspended for the Celtic tie.
