As Leicester City have a couple of players in the Danish national team, the local media features a nice story about them today.
Tipsbladet managed to hold an interview with Jannik Vestergaard, who has big international experience and is now facing a new challenge for his country.
They asked him about Victor Kristiansen, who also belongs to Leicester City, and just had a season on loan at Bologna.
Vestergaard only had good things to say about his teammate, insisting he should be ready to play for the Foxes as soon as he rejoins the squad this summer, and this time can shine for the club.
“Yes, definitely. He has some qualities that suit us and English football. Most recently, we had a coach who built the game in a different way, and then he ended up in a position where he couldn’t quite see himself, and I could understand that too.
“It also turned out to be a good decision for him to go to Bologna.”
While at Bologna last season, Kristiansen made 34 appearances. His performances were enough to get him a place in the Euros squad, where he was a starter in Denmark’s debut against Slovenia, which ended with an 1-1 draw.
Tipsbladet points out that Bologna have a buying option over him, but the Italian media have repeatedly it clear the Serie A club want a big discount.
Indeed, Bologna’s approach has seemed unreasonable and that has increased the chance of the defender staying at Leicester City.
