Queens Park Rangers star Nicolas Madsen has admitted he wants to become the best in the Championship and play in the Premier League.
BOLD have an interview with the 26-year-old today. He reveals his new ambitions after a breakthrough season with QPR.
QPR transformation
This season has been a transformative one for Nicolas Madsen, who joined QPR in a €4m deal in August 2024. He went on to make 34 appearances in total in all competitions. That saw him have 2309 minutes in total, although 358 were in the Jupiler Pro League.
This season, the number is 39 appearances in all competitions for QPR. And his total number of minutes has jumped to 3062. More importantly, he’s been in the starting 11 72% of the time.
He’s delighted with the improvement and has big ambitions moving forward as a result of it.
“I had a lot of goals before this season, which I have fulfilled, so now it is of course being adjusted. My ambition is to help make the team more competitive,” he said.
“On behalf of the club, the ambition is clearly to get into the fun places in the top 8. We have a good team, so it is definitely possible.”
Premier League ambitions
While the focus is on helping to develop QPR, he is also willing to admit that there are some personal ambitions as well.
First of all, he wants to further establish himself in the Championship. And then eyes will be turned to a potential move to the Premier League. Or, even better, getting there with QPR.
“My next goal is to become one of the best in the league, and I don’t think that’s unrealistic. I don’t see why it shouldn’t be possible,” he added.
“I’ve never made a secret of the fact that I want to go as far as possible. The big dream is still the Premier League, and I hope that it can be fulfilled with QPR.”
