Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Qatari investors are currently the two contenders to buy Manchester United, according to the latest report from France.
Last November, the Red Devils announced their current custodians, the Glazers, have started the process to “explore strategic alternatives” for the club.
The latest claims in the English press have stressed the Manchester United owners have set a soft deadline until February 17th to receive bids.
Ratcliffe is the chairman of INEOS Group Limited and has publicly expressed his desire to buy the Premier League giants.
Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna took to Twitter to state the British billionaire’s offer to buy the English club should not exceed $4bn + some incentives.
On the other hand, the Qataris’ offer to buy Manchester United ‘should be superior’ to the one Ratcliffe plans to propose. Aouna doesn’t specify the figures the latter are ready to propose.

▫️L'offre de l'Émir Al-Thani 🇶🇦, fan de MU, devrait être supérieure à celle du propriétaire d'INEOS.

However, the journalist does stress both parties are feeling ‘confident’ they would be in a firm position to become the new owners of Manchester United.
Time will tell…
