Leeds United have joined the race for Brazilian youngster Gustavo Prado, reports journalist Lucas Collar. The Internacional midfielder has already been linked to Brighton, but the Yorkshire side are now also following his progress closely.
Prado, aged 20, gained attention during Brazil’s U20 South American Championship win earlier this year. He scored one goal and provided an assist in that campaign. His performances earned him a place at the U20 World Cup in Chile, where he again showed flashes of quality despite Brazil’s early exit.
Cazé TV journalist Bruna Dealtry praised his technique and awareness. “What stood out to me was his passing quality, even in a team still finding rhythm,” she said. “He looked proud to wear Brazil’s shirt. It’s a shame we didn’t see more of him.”
Leeds United are said to be monitoring the midfielder as part of a wider European interest. Atalanta and Stuttgart are also keeping track of him, alongside Brighton. So far, Internacional have not received any formal offers, but they recognise the player’s growing market value.
Back in Porto Alegre, Prado is training under manager Ramón Díaz. With several starters away on international duty, he could be given a chance to play against Mirassol this week. That appearance may help scouts further assess one of Brazil’s most promising young midfielders.
