Manchester City have signed a ‘great hope of Peruvian soccer’ in youngster Kluiverth Aguilar, according to Daniel Ahmed, the head of Planning and Sports Development at Alianza Lima.

City finally completed a move for 16-year-old Aguilar in April after speculation about a switch to the Etihad for several months.

Reports first emerged last year that Manchester City were keeping an eye on the youngster, several updates followed with a move to the Etihad seemingly edging closer.

That became a reality last month when the Premier League side finally agreed on a deal with Alianza Lima for him to move to the Etihad in two years time when he turns 18.

We’ve heard plenty from the youngster about his ambitions since the deal was announced, namely regarding his aspirations and his plans to buy a house for his parents.

And he’s been backed to achieve Manchester City dreams by Ahmed, who has hailed the defender’s ‘great mentality’.

“Kluiverth is a great hope for Peruvian soccer,” Libero report him saying.

“We have had him in the selection process from a very young age. He has a great mentality; he is the prototype of a complete player on a personal and soccer level.

“Physical ability, game performance and as a professional and youngster is excellent. We have hope for him.

“You have to know how to carry it; he is a very young boy from 2003. He has a great future ahead.

“We have to help him emotionally, day by day, in the human way so that he grows and forms the best possible career.

“He is an example to follow; the idea is that there are many Kluivert Aguilar in Peruvian soccer.”
