Regional newspaper Taka claim Trabzonspor are closing in on Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo.
Omeruno has been linked with Trabzonspor in the past week.
Taka report Chelsea have ‘warmly welcomed’ the proposal made by Trabzonspor, with the Turkish side looking to loan the Nigeria international for a season.
The Turkish Super Lig club have already parted ways with three senior central defenders this summer and Omeruo is being targeted to help fill this void.
Trabzonspor are reportedly looking for a helping hand from their midfielder Ogenyi Onazi, who is currently in Russia with Omeruo. It’s likely a deal would only be confirmed when the Chelsea player returns from the World Cup.
Omeruo has spent the last three years on loan in Turkey after playing for Kasimpasa for two seasons and also 12 months with Alanyaspor. Omeruo played 28 games for Kasimpasa last season.
The Nigerian still has two years left on his current Chelsea contract.
