Sergio Reguilon has been left out of Tottenham Hotspur’s preseason trip to South Korea, and that decision has inevitably seen rumours rise about his future.
Sevilla were the club immediately linked with the fullback, although it doesn’t appear that anything concrete is happening right now.
Diario de Sevilla explain the Spanish club are ‘probing his situation’, and that stance appears to have developed mainly due to the Spurs decision. They see the situation as an opportunity in the transfer market, given it’s now assumed Antonio Conte doesn’t want Reguilon in his Tottenham squad.
The 25-year-old probably had the best form of his career during his loan from Real Madrid to Sevilla, excelling under the orders of Julen Lopetegui. Therefore, the opportunity of doing that again is likely to be one which tempts those involved.
There’s no indication what type of deal Sevilla would be considering, but it’s not too outlandish to make the assumption they’d be looking for a loan, whether with a purchase option or not.
Reguilon is almost certainly going to be transferred somewhere, given he’s been left behind, so it’s now a case of clubs coming forward, and whilst there’s no leaks of anything concrete, Sevilla appear to be at the front of the queue.
