When Marcos Senesi joined Bournemouth, it was a bit of a surprise considering how the Argentine was linked with multiple major Serie A sides.
There is again a possibility that he ends up in Italy, as covered by Corriere dello Sport today.
While Fiorentina are looking to sign Montpellier’s Modibo Saignan, they have some alternatives in mind for the centre-back position, and one of those is Senesi h.
The left-sided defender is an ‘old obsession’ of Fiorentina director Daniele Prade and they wanted him before he joined Bournemouth, where Senesi’s current deal runs until 2026.
There will obviously be a reasonably big transfer fee involved, and that’s why signing Senesi is a ‘bit worrying’ for La Viola, who it’s believed would have to pay around €20m.
However, there’s some hope that Bournemouth could show a bit of flexibility as the window gets to its closing stage. Fiorentina appearing to be leaving quite a lot of business until the final days, and it’s looking like a risky strategy for them.
