Turkish website Fotospor said Fenerbahce presidential candidate Ali Y. Koc will target Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic if he’s voted in at the weekend.
Last season the Croatian defender again won the treble with Celtic under Brendan Rodgers, but Fenerbahce want to snatch him away if Koc gets elected on the 3rd of June
Fotospor say a data analysis firm has given Koc 11 names to sign for each position and the Celtic player is one of those players.
It’s not reported how much the Turkish champions are planning to offer Celtic for the player but the things will become much clear next week.
However, it’s very unlikely Rodgers would be prepared to let Simunovic leave Celtic, especially given Erik Sviatchenko has recently rejoined Midtjylland on a permanent deal.
Simunovic played 30 games for Celtic in all competitions last season, and he has another two years remaining on his current contract. The 23 year old has been linked with various clubs in Italy over the past year and if he was considering a Celtic exit, that would appear the more attractive option.
