Last weekend, we covered claims from France and Italy that explained Tottenham Hotspur star Hugo Lloris has snubbed Lazio.
On Tuesday, Gazzetta dello Sport reported the Serie A side planned to hold fresh talks with the 36-year-old that day, to try to convince him to join them.
Lazio were unable to make progress so far but aren’t willing to give up their pursuit of the Tottenham player, according to Alfredo Pedullà.
He explains that Lazio president Claudio Lotito wants to sign the goalkeeper despite the Biancocelesti agreeing a deal for Salernitana’s Luigi Sepe.
The Italian club’s president believes the Frenchman can provide ‘added value’ to his side. Therefore, the journalist states Lotito will have a video conference call with Lloris and the intermediaries in the ‘next few hours’ to convince him over a move.
Pedullà says the Tottenham stopper doesn’t demand to feature week after week but asks to be considered by Maurizio Sarri for the No.1 spot, which is currently held by Ivan Provedel.
The former Chelsea manager wants to continue to rely upon Provedel and his plans have not changed so far.
Despite this, Lotito ‘wants to insist’ on signing the Spurs man and the ‘next few hours will be very important’ for this operation.
