Celtic’s Alexandro Bernabei has been on loan at SC Internacional this year and his future with Brendan Rodgers’ side needs to be clarified.
Over the past week or so, various claims from the Brazilian media have said Internacional want to retain him beyond this year. Globo Esporte reported the Brazilian club will make every effort to hold on to the Celtic player.
It was also said Celtic have lowered their demand to €5m, which is still too high for SC Internacional.
Revista Colorada, a website dedicating its coverage to the South American club, provides the latest on the Celtic man.
As a part of the loan deal, Internacional have an option to make his stay permanent for €10m. They state Brendan Rodgers’ side are willing to lower the price to €5m for the Argentine and also ask for a percentage of a future sale.
It’s not clear whether they have accepted Celtic’s demand and Internacional president Alessandro Barcellos has provided a short update on the possibility of retaining the 24-year-old.
“The negotiations continue, they are in full swing,” he said.
Revista Colorada suggest Barcellos’ comment indicate there’s ‘still room for negotiations’ with Celtic.
