Sunderland‘s Milan Aleksić hasn’t enjoyed a good run since arriving at the Stadium of Light from Radnički 1923 in August 2024.
At that time, the Black Cats were in the Championship, and the attacking midfielder played 348 minutes from nine matches in his debut season. He failed to score a goal or contribute an assist in the league.
His only goal for Sunderland came in their FA Cup defeat to Stoke City. In September 2025, the Premier League side let the 20-year-old join Polish side Cracovia on loan.
This move also didn’t work out well for the Serbia U21 international as he played 295 minutes from eight matches, managing two assists.
Aleksić will return to Sunderland, where he’s unlikely to be part of Régis Le Bris’ plans next season. A move is likely on cards this summer.
Sunderland player returns to his country
The youngster was part of Fudbalski klub Partizan’s youth team between 2021 and 2023, and his former club are keen on acquiring his signature in the upcoming window.
On Tuesday, Sport Witness covered claims Serbia that he rejected them before joining KS Cracovia last summer. Partizan, however, will face no obstacles to sign him on loan this summer.
They have already convinced the player and are sorting out the purchase option with Sunderland.
Partizan president Rasim Ljajić now backs up this report reveals the advances made to sign Milan Aleksić. He talked about the player on podcast 2X45 and Sportinjo have relayed his comments.
“We’ve more or less agreed on everything with Milan Aleksić,” he said.
“There are still a few things left to sort out with Sunderland. We’re arguing whether the buyout is mandatory or not. We want to have a say in the buyout. As was the case with Demba Ba, in order to minimise the risk for the club as much as possible.”
Sunderland want to avoid risk
The Serbian’s contract is until 2028 with Sunderland and his value, as per Transfermarkt, is €700k. Agency 11Wins are representing Milan Aleksić.
Taking this into account, the Black Cats would prefer to include an obligation, to avoid a risk of letting him enter the final year of his contract in 2027.
