Ipswich Town goalkeeper Arijanet Muric could be set for a difficult October, with his country yet to decide his fate after an incident on international duty.

Koha cover today how Ipswich appear to have decided against any sanction for the goalkeeper after his recent incident.

They explain that Muric, alongside two other teammates, are facing criticism in their home country after being kicked out of the squad in this international break.

They were punished after a “violation of the national team regulations”. It was later explained that all three had left the stadium without permission after the 3-0 defeat to Romania in Pristina on September 6th.

They were accused of doing so to head out to nightclubs, although the three players deny this and insist they simply went for a meal at a restaurant.

Either way, it remains to be seen if further punishments are on the way and the nation were waiting to see what their clubs would do. Ipswich, for their part, have done nothing.

In fact, Kieran McKenna insisted in his press conference this week that his player’s story was different to the one reported in Kosovo.

It’s not the first time that Muriq has been in trouble with his nation, though, after being banned by them in the past after he reportedly went to practice drunk.

It’s currently unknown whether the Ipswich Town goalkeeper and his two teammates will be invited to the next international break or will suffer from further consequences.

However, the President of the Football Association of Kosovo has been keen to emphasise that the players ‘respect the current regulations’, which would suggest further punishment will be on the way.
