Godoy Cruz president Alejandro Chapini has insisted he is happy to sell Thomas Galdames to Rangers if they make a firm offer for him.
Chapini has been speaking to AS about the defender as he continues to be linked with a move to Ibrox.
Various reports have hinted that Galdames, whose contract with Godoy Cruz ends in December this year, could be a target for Philippe Clement and co as they look to bolster the Rangers squad for next season.
The left-back has only been with Godoy Cruz since joining on a free transfer from Union Española in January 2023 but has been a regular since that point and earned himself admirers, including Rangers if reports are to be believed.
So far, they’ve only been credited with an interest and haven’t made a firm move to take him to Ibrox, but he is a potential target, something his current club are well aware of.
Chapini is certainly aware of the rumours around his player and was asked about the potential situation, making his stance clear to Rangers and other potential suitors.
“Since he arrived, Thomas has grown impressively, but for now they are all polls,” he said.
“Someone even called for Católica, but nothing serious to say that he is close to moving to another club.
“(He) is a club player and must respect the contract. However, we have never blocked the departure of a player if there is something convenient for both parties. Normally, when the representatives are 90% closed, they appear with their proposals. So far, they are simple polls. We will wait a few days.”
The 25-year-old is also aware that he could be on the move soon but is refusing to get wrapped up in the rumours and instead leaving it up to his agent.
“My representative is working on it. I try not to get too involved, because these are topics that do not concern me,” he added.
