Last month, we covered claims from Brazil that Wolverhampton Wanderers have become the latest clubs to join the race to sign São Paulo’s Lucas Beraldo. It was also stated the Premier League side are thinking about offering €7m to secure his services.
UOL cover Wolves’ interest in the 19-year-old and say they even made contact with the Brazilian club for a potential deal.
The centre-back has been identified as a target by several European clubs and only Gary O’Neil’s side are mentioned in the report.
The Brazil U20 international has a contract until 2026. São Paulo president Julio Casares has confirmed he’s been approached by several clubs for the teenager but has ruled out a sale this summer.
“There have been a number of polls, but he won’t come out in this window,” he told UOL.
It’s to be noted that Casares didn’t specifically mention Wolves but they seem to have been in contact with São Paulo to sign Beraldo, as per UOL.
This comes a day after Goal in Brazil stated the Wolves target has verbally agreed to stay at the club until 2024. It was also explained that Beraldo would only leave if he were to receive a lucrative offer.
