Crystal Palace are one of the clubs to have shown interest in RC Lens’ Facundo Medina.
That’s according to L’Equipe, and their title says the 25-year-old is ‘ready to leave’ Lens in the summer window.
Within the report, it’s claimed Crystal Palace, and a few other clubs are in the picture to sign the defender.
He has been a regular for the French club since joining them in 2020 and was rewarded with a new contract [until 2028] in April 2024. Lens allowed the Argentina international to establish himself in Europe.
Medina signed an extension when Franck Haise was the manager, who wanted to make him the centre of his project at Lens. Haise left the French club a month later, and things have changed for the centre-back since then.
The player wanted to leave in the winter market, but Lens requested him to continue. He decided to stay until the end of this season due to his ‘loyalty’ to the club.
Lens won’t stop Medina from leaving in the next window and the report explains they are ‘preparing to see one of their favourites leave’.
Marseille remain attentive of his situation, while Crystral Palace, Bayer Leverkusen and AS Roma have shown interest for months. L’Equipe makes no mention of Medina’s preference and there should be more clarity on this in the coming weeks.
