Andre Gomes seems to have been a theme of transfer windows since he made the move to Barcelona in the summer 2016 market.

The switch from Valencia hasn’t gone well, and despite having repeat chances, Gomes has failed to show he can be an important player for Barcelona.

Tottenham links have been around for some time and it often feels they’re being linked again because they have been previously, without anything to really back it up.

That’s how it feels again with claims from Sport on Friday. The Catalan newspaper go with a headline saying ‘Premier League offers for Andre Gomes’, and they go on link Tottenham and Wolves.

Covering claims from England, Sport then go on to say there have been no offers actually received by Barcelona. This time the ‘blame’ is put on English media for the Spurs and Wolves links, and it appears to be transfer rumour painting by numbers.

Tottenham are linked once again because they have been before, and Wolves will be thrown in due to the Jorge Mendes link. Gomes is represented by Gestifute, and they have worked closely on Wolves transfers in recent windows, so the player being offered is a possibility.

Sport believe Gomes would be especially welcomed by Wolves fans, but again that seems to come from English claims.
