As happens pretty much every week in one way or another, recent days have seen Manchester United’s Antony linked with an exit from the club.
That started as a rumour from a website and was then included on the BBC’s Gossip Column. As sometimes occurs, this has confused some in the Brazilian media, who have taken it as the BBC backing up the claims, which it never was.
Anyway, that’s made Goal Brasil chase the story, presumably speaking to Antony’s camp. They say Manchester United are prepared to loan the player out in January, which is no surprise given his Premier League minutes stand at 27 for the season.
Antony himself would be interested in a return to Ajax, and both the player and Manchester United believe he needs to stay within European football.
According to Goal Brasil, multiple Premier League sides have already asked the Red Devils about a January loan.
Given what was paid for the winger, and his huge drop in value since, a loan deal is really the only way he’s going to leave, and Manchester United have given the green light to that scenario.
Moving to another Premier League club would certainly be interesting.
