There’s a claim in the Danish media that West Ham United are showing interest in Bournemouth midfielder Philip Billing.

The Dane looks to be on the verge of joining Napoli, but the Hammers could look to come in for the player, with a ‘potential hijack from West Ham’ on the cards.

Ekstra Bladet today report on the latest developments regarding the future of Billing following reports yesterday that he will be signing for Napoli.

The central midfielder has struggled to get games for Bournemouth this season and is looking to move on in this transfer window.

However, Napoli are now concerned West Ham are looking to hijack a move for the 28-year-old as the Premier League side look to bolster their squad in this window.

Despite this, Napoli have reportedly agreed personal terms with the Bournemouth man and even though West Ham are looking to come in for the player at the last minute, it seems at this stage he will end up in Serie A. The Italian side will initially loan Billing, with an option to purchase in the summer.

Billing has made ten appearances for the Cherries this season but has made just one start in the Premier League. He’s contracted to the English side until June 2027.
