On Friday morning, the Brazilian media had been showing some concern regarding the situation of Tottenham Hotspur star Richarlison.

With Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou saying the forward should be out for a minimum of a couple of weeks due to a knee injury, there was some worry that he could also stay out of the national team’s upcoming friendlies.

However, as manager Dorival Junior now made his first call up, he was asked about Richarlison’s situation and claimed that it should be all fine with the Tottenham player by the time of the games. The quotes come from Globo Esporte.

“Doctor Rodrigo Lasmar got in touch this morning as soon as the news hit the websites, they’re optimistic, they’ve lined up the situation. He’ll probably miss his team’s next match, but it’s possible that he’ll be fit soon. From what they’ve been told, they don’t see a situation that’s a problem, not least because they believe in a quick solution,” said Dorival Junior.

Brazil will be playing England on the 23rd of March and Spain on the 26th. Those are the first games Dorival will be in charge, and they will be very important for players who want to guarantee themselves a place in the squad that will go to the Copa America.

Considering the Brazilian manager’s quotes, it appears Richarlison could even be back for Tottenham before the date set for Ange Postecoglou.

Prior to the international break, Tottenham play Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Fulham, although it remains to be seen if they take that risk with their forward.
