While it seems the vast majority of the Italian press have been affected in some shape or form by the English media’s reporting of the Edin Dzeko transfer story (especially in the wages department), Leggo’s Rome edition have continued with their information and stuck to it.

Earlier this week, they downplayed the situation by pointing out the reported €10m salary was grossly over-exaggerated, claiming it was actually around €5m, and their Thursday report on the Bosnia international is even better news for West Ham fans.

Leggo state that Dzeko is currently on €4.6m at AS Roma, and the Hammers are ready to offer him a three-year, €4.5m/year deal at London Stadium.

Considering they claimed the €5m was ‘more than enough’ last week, this shows some consistency as the Italian newspaper appears to have picked up a bit more detail over the past week.

They believe the possibility of a move to West Ham is ‘increasingly concrete’, but the Serie A side are still asking for a €18-20m transfer fee.

There’s no mention of Inter in their report, which, again, falls in line with reports elsewhere, as Il Messaggero explain the interest from Luciano Spalletti’s side has only amounted to ‘enquiries’ so far.

It seems West Ham remain firmly in the lead for Edin Dzeko.
