Takvim report Galatasaray have held talks wit Ryan Babel’s agent ahead of a potential move back to Istanbul.

Earlier this week we we covered reports from Turkey that the Fulham player is a target for fellow Super Lig club Fenerbahce, and Takvim now claim Galatasaray have stepped up their own interest in the 32-year old.

Babel joined Fulham from Besiktas during the last winter transfer window, but is likely to leave the club with the Craven Cottage club looking destined to drop down to the Championship. The London club lie 19th in the Premier League table and are 13 points from 17th placed Burnley.

Subsequently, interest in Babel has grown in Turkey and it’s reported the two local rivals will to go head to head to sign the Dutch international on a free transfer this summer.

According to Takvim, Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim is keen to work with Babel and initial talks with the Fulham player’s agent have been positive.

Despite the reported interest from the two Istanbul clubs Babel has stated to the Dutch media this week he will wait until the end of the season to make a decision on his future, out of respect for Fulham.
