Bayern Munich’s Marcel Sabitzer has been on loan at Manchester United since the winter market and has made 12 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils.
Erik ten Hag’s side don’t have an option to make the 29-year-old’s deal permanent in the summer.
Last week, Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg reported the player ‘can imagine joining’ Manchester United permanently after this season. Plettenberg had also explained other Premier League clubs have also asked about the midfielder.
SportBild interviewed Sabitzer and asked him about the possibility of extending his stay at Manchester United beyond this season. His comments are relayed by Sky Sport Austria.
“I have found my place here. I know the Premier League now and can say: There is nothing better, more intense and tougher,” he said.
“Obviously my thoughts on United – especially looking at how things are going, the confidence I get from Erik ten Hag – are very positive. But I don’t have to decide it alone.”
“I’ll be a Bayern player again from July 1st, 2023, that’s what the contract says. I’m not stuck in any direction.”
Despite refusing to discuss where he could play next season, the Austria international has stressed he’s enjoying life in the Premier League.
Manchester United signed Sabitzer after Christian Eriksen suffered an injury in January. The former Inter Milan man has regained full fitness and returned to the pitch in his side’s 2-0 win over Everton last weekend.
With Eriksen and Casemiro both available for selection, it remains to be seen whether the Austrian will be able to enjoy more game time at Manchester United this season.
