Brazil manager Tite today held a press conference ahead of Friday’s World Cup Qualifiers match against Venezuela.

The main topic in the interview was mostly the line-up he’s using this time, as he’s made a few changes in the team.

Tite revealed Brazil will have Manchester City star Ederson starting instead of Liverpool’s Alisson, and explained his decision by saying it’s a matter of who’s in better form.

“We have three great goalkeepers,” said Tite (via Globo Esporte). “Weverton made two good games and comes in a very good sequence also at Palmeiras. I spoke about this personally to the three, together with Taffarel.

“Alisson is an excellent goalkeeper. Ederson is going through a great technical and physical moment. We don’t judge who’s better. The moment is important for Venezuela’s game. So Ederson is the starting goalkeeper.”

The press conference was also used to break the news regarding Palmeiras player Gabriel Menino, who’s now out of the national team after testing positive for Covid-19.

“The doctor put out what was done today. It will speed up other tests. In the meantime there’s no problem going to the game. Roughly speaking, the information given to us was that,” said the manager.

The test was made on Wednesday and the result came out today. That means he trained with several Premier League players before knowing he was positive.

Besides Alisson and Ederson, there was also Chelsea’s Thiago Silva, Manchester United’s Alex Telles, Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz, Everton’s Allan and Richarlison, Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino and Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus.
